Kitchen Design to Maximize the Small Footprint of Our Space
Cathy Bristow worked with us in the spring of 2018 to support us with design decisions during the renovation of the entire main floor of our home, as well as the addition of a basement bathroom. Cathy provided us with kitchen design suggestions to maximize the small footprint of our space. Working within our budget, she advised us on decorative choices, as well as sourced and ordered quality materials such as hardwood flooring, floor and shower tile, backsplash tile, plumbing fixtures, door hardware, light fixtures, paint etc. Cathy was able to simplify the decision-making process for us and her suggestions resulted in the light, airy, contemporary look that we wanted.
Throughout the process Cathy was patient and professional, and she responded quickly to our questions and concerns. It was a pleasure working with Cathy and thanks to her input and advice we are now enjoying our lovely new space!.

Cathy Makes It All A Breeze
I have only dealt with Cathy. I can promise you with out reservation that she is talented, professional and extremely in touch with your tastes and perception of your project. We did a very large addition to our home. I was having a terrible time getting the furniture, faucets, tubs- you name it. It’s very difficult to find somethings and even more difficult to get them! Cathy makes it all a breeze. She understands what you like and narrows down the search so your time spent on these things is cut down to a minimum. You would not believe how time consuming even choosing paint can be!
She has some incredible connections with trades and services that have worked with her for years. They give her projects priority. Also a huge asset! They respect her and she respects them. It’s a wonderful thing when you see how they help each other out.
If Cathy says the construction company is a good one then I’d believe her. She did her own very large home reno last year and would certainly know first hand. She will also be your advocate if there’s any issues. This was the first time I’d ever hired a designer and I wouldn’t think twice about doing it again. She’s reasonably priced and worth her weight in gold. We have a very old home and had to blend old with new.

I wholeheartedly recommend Cathy Bristow at Left of Center Decorating to anyone north of the city looking for a professional decorator. Cathy listened to all my ideas and was able to incorporate them into a plan that worked with our space and budget. She was able to source items from her long list of vendors and show me the differences in price and value. Her love of decorating is obvious from her confident and enthusiastic manner, which put me at ease as a “first-timer”.
I thought that choosing custom draperies would be a daunting task but Cathy made the process simple for me, showing me well-chosen fabric samples and looking through hardware catalogues together. Emails were returned promptly and appointments were kept. She personally delivered the fabric to my home as well as the hardware. When the drapes were sewn and hung, she wanted to come by and see the final product, which was quite beautiful and suited the room perfectly. I could not have done this myself.
